deja vu?

I am making a slightly different version of the Christmas Express train quilt. I have finished appliqueing all the pieces and have added a whimsical border to it. I am enjoying hand quilting this small quilt with the "free" time that I have and cannot wait to finish this.

Fabric Goodies

Can I just tell you how great my sister in law is? She knows I am obsessed with knitting and sewing, so she introduced me to these Japanese fabrics available for sale. She helped me ordered them online and had her family friend bring them back for me. These goodies included 50 different Japanese fabric pieces measuring about 10"x10" each! I also got a huge stack of tiny Japanese taupe fabrics perfect for patchwork. They are just so beautiful.

Some of my favorites are listed below. These images were hand painted onto canvas/muslin materials. I cannot wait to make something with them! Little pouches, maybe?

This umbrella one is my favorite. Luckily I have two of them! The floral fabric shown here is part of the 50 pieces of Japanese prints.
